In September, investment in residential construction for Canada increased 2.9% compared to August 2024. Newfoundland and Labrador was up 18.0%, Prince Edward Island was up 8.2%, Nova Scotia was down 4.4%, New Brunswick was down 6.9%, Quebec was up 3.3%, Ontario was up 4.0%, Manitoba was up 0.5%, Saskatchewan was down 2.4%, Alberta was up 3.6%, British Columbia was up 1.7%, Yukon was up 70.6%, Northwest Territories was up 11.8%, Nunavut was up 5.5%.

Total investment for Canada was $15,167.5 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $67.8 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $75.0 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $457.7 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $247.5 million, total investment for Quebec was $3,054.4 million, total investment for Ontario was $6,051.7 million, total investment for Manitoba was $606.4 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $314.4 million, total investment for Alberta was $1,741.8 million, total investment for British Columbia was $2,414.1 million, total investment for Yukon was $62.0 million, total investment for Northwest Territories was $13.9 million, total investment for Nunavut was $60.7 million.

Single homes: Market share was 35.4%, total investment totalled $2,724.9 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 0.2% or $5.2 million.

Semi-detached homes: Market share was 3.0%, total investment totalled $234.4 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 7.0% or $15.2 million.

Row homes: Market share was 10.4%, total investment totalled $802.4 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 1.0% or $8.4 million.

Condos and rental apartments: Market share was 51.1%, total investment totalled $3,934.7 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 1.0% or $41.6 million.
