This is a map of Canada by province and territory that shows the month-to-month percentage changes of the total building permits value. Green arrows represent an increase, while red arrows represent a decrease.

Building permit values in Canada up 22.1% in July compared with June. Newfoundland and Labrador down 16.5%, Prince Edward Island down 14.0%, Nova Scotia up 4.0%, New Brunswick up 19.2%, Quebec up 12.1%, Ontario up 10.7%, Manitoba down 4.3%, Saskatchewan up 49.2%, Alberta up 12.6%, British Columbia up 110.1%, Yukon up 119.9%, Northwest Territories up 89.5% and Nunavut down 37.4%.

Residential: The total value was up 16.7% month over month.

Non-residential: The total value was up 31.8% month over month.

Single-family dwellings: The total value was $2,586 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 1.9% or $0.1 million.

Multi-family dwellings: The total value was $5,001 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 29.3% or $1.1 million.

Industrial: The total value was $1,313 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 98.6% or $0.7 million.

Commercial: The total value was $2,200 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 18.4% or $0.3 million.

Institutional: The total value was $1,290 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 14.8% or $0.2 million.
