Building permit values in Canada down 14.0% compared with November. Newfoundland and Labrador down 19.6%, Prince Edward Island down 68.2%, Nova Scotia down 29.4%, New Brunswick up 4.4%, Quebec down 20.7%, Ontario down 15.1%, Manitoba down 2.3%, Saskatchewan down 32.9%, Alberta down 3.1%, British Columbia down 8.6%, Yukon down 61.4%, Northwest Territories down 70.3%, Nunavut down 14.8%.

Residential: The total value was down 17.9% month over month.

Non-residential: The total value was down 7.0% month over month.

Single-family dwellings: total value was $2,876 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 0.8% or $22.4 million.

Multi-family dwellings: total value was $2,781 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 31.1% or $1,256.2 million.

Industrial: total value was $882 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 4.7% or $39.3 million.

Commercial: total value was $1,749 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 4.1% or $69.1 million.

Institutional: total value was $957 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 28.4% or $379.5 million.
