Building permit values in Canada down 3.9% in November compared with October. Newfoundland and Labrador up 5.3%, Prince Edward Island up 29.8%, Nova Scotia up 5.9%, New Brunswick up 30.6%, Quebec down 5.4%, Ontario down 9.4%, Manitoba up 25.6%, Saskatchewan up 19.3%, Alberta up 0.9%, British Columbia down 3.7%, Yukon up 141.6%, Northwest Territories up 140.8%, Nunavut down 53.5%.

Residential: The total value was down 2.8% month over month.

Non-residential: The total value was down 5.8% month over month.

Single-family dwellings: total value was $2,826 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 0.3% or $7.3 million.

Multi-family dwellings: total value was $4,138 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 4.7% or $205.9 million.

Industrial: total value was $974 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 7.2% or $67.1 million.

Commercial: total value was $862 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 3.5% or $62.0 million.

Institutional: total value was $1,723 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 7.9% or $113.6 million.
