Production and disposition of tobacco products, July 2023

Canadian manufacturers produced 1.1 billion cigarettes in July 2023, up 2.2% from June 2023. Cigarette production was 21.6% lower compared with July 2022.
In July 2023, the total number of cigarettes sold decreased 7.5% to 1.3 billion from June 2023. The level of sales was 1.1% lower compared with July 2022.

The monthly "Production and Disposition of Tobacco Products" survey measures the quantities of tobacco products produced and sold by Canadian manufacturers.
