Investment in non-residential for Canada increased 3.4% in April compared with March 2023. Newfoundland and Labrador was up 1.1%, Prince Edward Island was up 2.3%, Nova Scotia was up 3.9%, New Brunswick was up 0.5%, Quebec was up 3.6%, Ontario was up 4.9%, Manitoba was up 0.5%, Saskatchewan was down 2.6%, Alberta was down 0.4%, British Columbia was up 3.4%, Yukon was up 2.6%, Northwest Territories was up 85.0%, Nunavut was down 11.0%.

Total investment for Canada was $5,895.8 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $27.8 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $21.2 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $69.1 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $63.1 million, total investment for Quebec was $1,368.8 million, total investment for Ontario was $2,504.7 million, total investment for Manitoba was $189.9 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $110.9 million, total investment for Alberta was $669.4 million, total investment for British Columbia was $846.7 million, total investment for Yukon was $13.0 million, total investment for Northwest Territories was $7.2 million, total investment for Nunavut was $4.2 million.

Industrial: Market share was 20.8% and total investment totalled $1,227.8 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 30.7% or $288.2 million.

Commercial: Market share was 54.6% and total investment totalled $3,221.2 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 10.1% or $295.4 million.

Institutional: Market share was 24.5% and total investment totalled $1,446.8 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 3.1% or $43.0 million.
