This is a map of Canada by province and territory that shows the month-to-month percentage changes of total building permit value. Green arrows represent an increase, while red arrows represent a decrease.

Building permit values in Canada were up 14.1% compared with October. They were up 4.1% in Newfoundland and Labrador, up 80.2% in Prince Edward Island, up 1.0% in Nova Scotia, down 14.8% in New Brunswick, up 6.1% in Quebec, up 41.2% in Ontario, up 5.1% in Manitoba, down 8.3% in Saskatchewan, up 4.5% in Alberta, down 12.6% in British Columbia, down 49.8% in Yukon, down 41.1% in Northwest Territories, and down 47.6% in Nunavut.

Residential: The total value increased 13.7% month-over-month.

Non-residential: The total value increased 14.9% month-over-month.

Single-family dwellings: The total value was $3,012 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 7.1% or $200.5 million.

Multi-family dwellings: The total value was $4,091 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 19.0% or $653.3 million.

Industrial: The total value was $1,098 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 32.4% or $268.9 million.

Commercial: The total value was $1,960 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 0.6% or $11.7 million.

Institutional: The total value was $874 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 40.6% or $252.1 million.
