Building permit values in Canada down 1.4% compared with September. Newfoundland and Labrador down 38.2%, Prince Edward Island down 40.8%, Nova Scotia down 29.3%, New Brunswick down 13.5%, Quebec down 8.7%, Ontario up 2.1%, Manitoba up 10.5%, Saskatchewan down 8.3%, Alberta down 0.6%, British Columbia up 2.7%, Yukon up 102.5%, Northwest Territories down 15.9%, Nunavut up 59.2%.

Residential: a month-over-month decrease of 6.4%

Non-Residential: a month-over-month increase of 9.5%

Single-family dwellings: total value was $2,948 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 5.8% or $182.3 million.

Multi-family dwellings: total value was $3,559 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 6.9% or $262.7 million.

Industrial: total value was $754 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 16.2% or $105.1 million.

Commercial: total value was $2,117 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 18.0% or $323.0 million.

Institutional: total value was $616 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 17.1% or $126.7 million.
