Shipments of urea within Canada decreased by 247 000 tonnes to 1 533 000 tonnes in the second quarter of the 2021/2022 fertilizer year, down 13.9% from the same quarter a year earlier.

Over the same period, shipments of urea to the United States increased 45.8% to 245 000 tonnes.

These trends were consistent with shipments of several other fertilizer products, as strong demand continued south of the border.
