Investment in residential construction for Canada increased 1.5% compared with October 2021. Newfoundland and Labrador was up 33.9%, Prince Edward Island was down 7.0%, Nova Scotia was up 6.0%, New Brunswick was down 2.5%, Quebec was up 1.3%, Ontario was up 2.0%, Manitoba was up 6.8%, Saskatchewan was up 13.9%, Alberta was up 0.1%, British Columbia was down 1.5%, Yukon was down 8.2%, Northwest Territories was down 27.1%, Nunavut was down 55.7%.

Total investment for Canada was $13,079.1 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $60.3 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $58.9 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $334.7 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $153.8 million, total investment for Quebec was $2,874.4 million, total investment for Ontario was $5,646.4 million, total investment for Manitoba was $396.5 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $257.7 million, total investment for Alberta was $1,243.2 million, total investment for British Columbia was $2,011.3 million, total investment for Yukon was $20.9 million, total investment for Northwest Territories was $15.5 million, total investment for Nunavut was $5.3 million.

Single homes: Market share was 41.6%, total investment totalled $2,829.9 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 20.2% or $475.1 million.

Semi-detached homes: Market share was 3.1%, total investment totalled $213.5 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 16.8% or $43.0 million.

Row homes: Market share was 10.0%, total investment totalled $679.3 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 15.9% or $93.0 million.

Condo and rental apartments: Market share was 45.3%, total investment totalled $3,078.4 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 12.5% or $343.1 million.
