Investment in residential construction for Canada increased 1.4% compared with September 2021. Newfoundland and Labrador was up 43.9%, Prince Edward Island was up 17.8%, Nova Scotia was down 1.9%, New Brunswick was down 3.8%, Quebec was up 3.3%, Ontario was up 1.0%, Manitoba was down 7.5%, Saskatchewan was up 16.7%, Alberta was up 2.1%, British Columbia was down 0.1%, Yukon was up 16.9%, the Northwest Territories was down 15.5%, and Nunavut was down 15.9%.

Total investment for Canada was $12,944.7 million, total investment for Newfoundland and Labrador was $43.4 million, total investment for Prince Edward Island was $64.5 million, total investment for Nova Scotia was $306.7 million, total investment for New Brunswick was $158.3 million, total investment for Quebec was $2,852.7 million, total investment for Ontario was $5,537.7 million, total investment for Manitoba was $369.5 million, total investment for Saskatchewan was $226.0 million, total investment for Alberta was $1,253.5 million, total investment for British Columbia was $2,075.4 million, total investment for Yukon was $23.0 million, total investment for the Northwest Territories was $21.6 million, and total investment for Nunavut was $12.5 million.

Single homes: Market share was 43.7%, and total investment was $3,084.5 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 25.1%, or $618.1 million.

Semi-detached homes: Market share was 3.1%, and total investment was $221.3 million, representing a year-over-year decrease of 12.4%, or $31.4 million.

Row homes: Market share was 9.8%, and total investment was $694.8 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 23.7%, or $132.9 million.

Condos and rental apartments: Market share was 43.3%, and total investment was $3,056.1 million, representing a year-over-year increase of 14.0%, or $374.2 million.
