The adjusted price index (June to September 2021) and the monthly adjusted consumer expenditure basket weights (May to September 2021) are available.

The adjusted price index was previously published for reference months March 2020 to February 2021, using a monthly chained Laspeyres index. To address limitations with this method, such as chain drift, and to incorporate 2020 basket weights, released with the June 2021 Consumer Price Index (CPI), the adjusted price index has been redeveloped using a similarity-linked Fisher price index. The 2020 basket weights were used as a starting point for the derivation of the adjusted weights and the adjusted price index.

The data table for the Adjusted price index, monthly percentage change includes data for June to September 2021. The data table for the Monthly adjusted consumer expenditure basket weights now includes data for May to September 2021.

For every reference period, the adjusted price index and the official CPI had the same month-over-month movements at the all-items level. This confirms that the 2020 basket weights and the monthly adjusted consumer expenditure basket weights yield the same results for the all-items CPI for the June-to-September reference months.
