This figure displays a map of the census subdivisions (CSDs) in and surrounding the Toronto census metropolitan area (CMA).

Each CSD is coloured from light blue to dark purple based on ranges of growth rate of the housing stock from 2019 to 2020. The darker the colour, the higher the growth rate of housing stock associated with the CSD.

Category 1 is coloured light blue and represents rates of -0.1% or less. It comprises 1 CSD.

Category 2 is coloured medium blue and represents rates between 0.0% and 0.6%. It comprises 19 CSDs.

Category 3 is coloured blue and represents rates between 0.7% and 1.3%. It comprises 20 CSDs.

Category 4 is coloured indigo and represents rates between 1.4% and 1.9%. It comprises 16 CSDs.

Category 5 is coloured light purple and represents rates between 2.0% and 2.9%. It comprises 10 CSDs.

Category 6 is coloured purple and represents rates between 3.0% and 4.9%. It comprises 6 CSDs.

Category 7 is coloured dark purple and represents rates of 5.0% or more. It comprises 2 CSDs.

Category 8 is coloured medium grey and is used for all areas within Canada where data are not available.

Finally, Category 9 is coloured pale grey and is used for the United States of America.
