Building permit values in Canada up 1.7% compared to July. Newfoundland and Labrador down 33.2%, Prince Edward Island up 4.5%, Nova Scotia up 1.7%, New Brunswick down 15.2%, Quebec up 18.5%, Ontario up 3.2%, Manitoba up 1.0%, Saskatchewan up 3.4%, Alberta down 0.7%, British Columbia down 13.3%, Yukon down 85.6%, Northwest Territories and Nunavut too unreliable to be published.

Residential: a month-over month increase of 7.1%

Non residential: a month-over-month decrease of 8.6%

Single family dwellings: total value was $2,490 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 9.9% or $223.5 million.

Multi-family dwellings: total value was $3,092 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 5.0% or $146.3 million.

Industrial: total value was $528 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 7.5% or $37.0 million.

Commercial: total value was $1,362 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 14.7% or $235.0 million.

Institutional: total value was $603 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 5.8% or $37.3 million.
