The Freight Rail Services Price Index (2018=100) is now available for September.
Note to readers
The Freight Rail Services Price Index is a monthly index that measures the price changes for delivering a carload of a certain commodity and of a specific weight, on a specific distance (specific origin and destination) and under certain terms of shipment.
Data are available at the Canada level only and for certain commodities.
With each release, data for the previous month may have been revised. The index is not seasonally adjusted.
Products
A video entitled "Producer Price Indexes" is available on the Statistics Canada Training Institute webpage. It provides an introduction to Statistics Canada's Producer Price Indexes: what they are, how they are compiled and what they are used for.
Statistics Canada has launched the Producer price indexes portal as part of a suite of portals for prices and price indexes. This web page provides users with a single point of access to a wide variety of statistics and measures related to producer prices.
