Number and Salaries of Full-time Teaching Staff at Canadian Universities (partial), 2018/2019

This is first release of data on full-time university academic teaching staff from the University and College Academic Staff System (UCASS) for the 2018/2019 academic year. It includes 84 of the 110 universities that participated in the survey to date, covering universities all across Canada, including most institutions in Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia, and at least half of the institutions located in the remaining provinces. As more data become available, subsequent releases will include data from the remaining universities.

In 2017/2018 (the last year for which the complete dataset is available), this group of 84 institutions accounted for 73% of the full-time academic university teaching staff. Of these institutions, 55 had more than 100 academic teaching staff and selected data from these respondents at the institution level are now available.

The UCASS provides Canadians with a detailed portrait of full-time academic staff in Canada, including sex, age, principal subject taught, academic rank, salary and administrative stipends, province or country of degrees earned.
