Farm product prices, October 2018
Prices received by farmers in October for grains, oilseeds, specialty crops, potatoes, cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs and dairy products are now available at the provincial level.
For example, the price of hogs in Ontario was $84.93 per hundredweight in October, up 23.0% from September and up 15.3% from October 2017 when the price was $73.66 per hundredweight.
Meanwhile, the price of barley in Saskatchewan was $214.44 per tonne in October, up 1.1% from September and up 5.0% from October 2017 when the price was $204.22 per tonne.

The price of over 35 commodities is available by province, with some data series going back 40 years. Price data are extracted from administrative files and derived from Statistics Canada surveys.
