Coal production decreased 13.7% year over year to 4.4 million tonnes in September.
Monthly data for September on the production and export volumes of coal, by coal type and use, are now available. Data are available at the national level and by coal-producing province.
Monthly data for September on the volume of coal received by coal coke plants and the volume of coke produced and sold are also available at the national level only.

The purpose of this release is to provide a monthly indicator of the supply of coal and coke in Canada.
Data have been revised from January 2015 to December 2017.
