The total amount of milk sold off farms in September reached 744 334 kilolitres, up 1.1% compared with September 2017. Total cash receipts from milk and cream sold off farms totalled $552.4 million in September, up 2.8% from the same month last year.
Milk sold off farms for fluid purposes fell 2.4% year over year to 225 216 kilolitres in September. Milk sold off farms for industrial purposes increased 2.6% to 519 117 kilolitres. The total and industrial amounts of milk sold off farms have shown a year-over-year increase every month since June 2014.
