The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Canada 2017 Version 3.0 is now available.
NAICS Canada 2017 Version 3.0 is the departmental standard for classifying industries and it replaces NAICS Canada 2017 Version 2.0.
NAICS Canada 2017 Version 3.0 has been created in response to the legalization of cannabis for non-medical use. Five new cannabis-related industries in agriculture, manufacturing, wholesale trade and retail trade have been created for NAICS Canada 2017 Version 3.0.
NAICS has been developed by the statistical agencies of Canada, Mexico and the United States. However, Statistics Canada has created new cannabis industries that are unique to NAICS Canada.
