Architectural, Engineering and Related Services Price Index, second quarter 2018
Second quarter 2018
The Architectural, Engineering and Related Services Price Index (AESPI) rose 0.1% in the second quarter, following a 0.7% increase in the first quarter.
Engineering services, the largest component of the AESPI, reported no change in the second quarter.
Prices rose 0.8% for surveying and mapping services, and 0.5% for architectural and landscape architectural services.
Respondents who reported a price movement in the second quarter cited changes in input costs as the top reason for the price change.
Year over year, the AESPI rose 1.1% as a result of higher prices for architectural and landscape architectural services (+1.7%), surveying and mapping services (+1.7%) and engineering services (+1.0%).

With each release, data for the previous quarter may have been revised. Data are also subject to an annual revision with the release of second quarter data of the following reference year. The index is not seasonally adjusted. Data are available at the Canada level only.
