Note to readers
Starting in January 2017, improvements were made to this survey and the sample of companies was increased to improve regional coverage. Previously, the survey was a sample of some of the largest urban transit companies operating in Canada.
This survey now collects operating revenue (excluding subsidies) and passenger trip data from urban transit companies that represent at least 75% of revenues in each province/territory.
This survey is now part of the Integrated Business Statistics Program and data are collected through an electronic questionnaire.
Caution should be used when comparing values prior to January 2017 as the number of sampled companies has changed significantly.
Data aggregations are available for Canada.
The data in this release are not seasonally adjusted.
Data prior to January 2017 can be found in CANSIM table 408-0004.
