The University and College Academic Staff System provides Canadians with a detailed portrait of full-time university academic teaching staff, including gender, age, principal subject taught, academic rank, salary, and province or country of degrees earned.
Preliminary data on these staff at 75 Canadian universities for the 2016-2017 academic year were released in The Daily on April 25, 2017.
Information is now available on full-time university academic teaching staff for an additional 25 Canadian universities for the 2016-2017 academic year. Included were all institutions that had completed the survey by the middle of August 2017. Selected data for institutions that have more than 100 staff are available in CANSIM table 477-0123.
Once information for all institutions has been received, a final dataset will be released. Special requests are also available from this dataset.
