The price of desktop and similar computers, laptop and tablet computers, and servers decreased 0.5% in June.

The decline was attributable to lower prices for laptop computers (-0.8%) and desktop and similar computers (-1.6%).

Tablet computers (+0.7%) and servers (+0.6%) partly offset the decline of the index, while prices for smartphones were unchanged.

The price for computer monitors and computer printers fell 1.1%, primarily as a result of lower prices for computer printers (-1.2%). Computer monitors (-0.2%) also contributed to the decline of the index.

Year over year, prices for desktop and similar computers, laptop and tablet computers, and servers decreased 3.5%. Prices for computer monitors and computer printers were down 2.2% compared with June 2016.
