The Statistical Framework for Energy in Canada provides an overview of Canada's current energy statistics system and serves as a guide to facilitate the strategic planning of energy statistics in Canada.
Note to readers
The Statistical Framework for Energy in Canada encompasses three primary components:
- Energy supply and demand information comprising volumetric data on energy production, distribution and consumption;
- Economic information and accounts related to the energy sector and its sub-industries; and
- Environmental statistics and accounts that measure the effects of energy on the environment.
This framework is the result of a four-year collaboration between Statistics Canada and Natural Resources Canada.
