The Accounting Services Price Index rose by 1.5% in 2014, with every component of the index increasing.
The largest gains were in tax preparation services for individuals and unincorporated businesses (+3.3%) and tax preparation services for corporate clients (+2.9%). This was followed by a 1.3% increase in bookkeeping, compilation, payroll and general accounting services. However, these gains were moderated by a 0.2% increase in audit, review, related services and other assurance services, because of the component's high relative importance in the index.

The Accounting Services Price Index is an annual survey. The index collects prices for accounting engagements that are used to measure price movements over time in the accounting services industry.
