New educational resources on the 2016 Census are now available for teachers.
The 2016 Census "Teacher's Kit" was developed for use in elementary, intermediate and secondary classes.
The kit contains four activities that are appropriate for many subjects, including mathematics, social studies and language studies in French or English. It also includes ideas to connect these subject areas with concepts in the sciences and creative arts.
The 2016 Census "Adult Education Kit" was developed for use in adult literacy and English or French second-language classes.
The kit contains five activities that provide opportunities for listening, speaking, reading and writing. The activities help students become familiar with the Census of Population, and to gain an understanding of how the census works and how information obtained through the census is used.
The 2016 Census "Teacher's Kit" and "Adult Education Kit" are now available as part of 2016 Census Education Kits (98-503-X) from the Browse by key resource module of our website under Publications.
