Industrial capacity utilization rates, fourth quarter 2011
Canadian industries operated at 80.5% of their production capacity in the fourth quarter, up slightly from the 80.0% posted in the third quarter. The increase would have been greater if not for the slight decline in the non-manufacturing sector.
New motor vehicle sales, January 2012
The number of new motor vehicles sold in January rose 15.4% to 153,623 units. A significant factor in January's growth was the resumption of supply for certain models of passenger cars.
