September 2008 (preliminary) (Previous release)

Domestic production of crude oil and equivalent hydrocarbons totalled 12.9 million cubic metres in September, down 4.3% compared with September 2007.

Deliveries of crude oil and equivalent hydrocarbons to the export market increased by 1.5% in September compared with the same month in 2007. In September 2008, 71% of Canada's total production went to the export market.

Domestic sales of natural gas fell 3.8% in September from the same month in 2007. This decrease was the result of lower sales to the residential and industrial sectors.
